Sara Nicole Pitts
Sara Nicole Pitts, 13, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass will be noon Tuesday, November 16, at Our Lady of The Presentation Church, 130 NW Murray Rd., Lee's Summit, MO 64081, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a memorial fund in Sara's name c/o Bank of America, Chipman Rd. Branch, 1801 NW Chipman Rd., Lee's Summit, MO 64081. Sara was born January 28, 1991, in North Kansas City, MO. She was a student at Summit Lakes Middle School. She loved dancing, singing and modeling. She was a member of the "Live Wires" dance troupe, with Monica's School of Dance in Lee's Summit. She is survived by her parents, Dr. Olevia and F. Sherman Pitts, Jr. of the home; her brother, Floyd Pitts, III, also of the home; maternal grandparents, Waymon and Pinkie Mitchem of Blue Springs, MO; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Inez Pitts of Wichita, KS; Aunt, Leartis Harper and her husband, James, Jr. of Blue Springs, MO; Uncle, John Butcher of Leawood, KS; Aunt, Lydia Sneed and her husband, Leon of Fairfield, OH; Uncle, Michael Pitts (her godfather) of Cherry Hill, NJ; Uncle, Harold Pitts and his wife, Gloria of Wichita, KS; Aunt, DeLisa Smith and her husband, Leon of Tampa Bay, FL; Aunt, Carmen Butler and her husband, Gene of Fairfield, OH; Mary Foundopoulos Hernandez (her godmother) of Overland Park, KS; cousins, Jaela and Trae Harper, Sidney, Jocelyn and Angela Butcher, Marcus and Kenton Sneed, Victoria and Christina Pitts, Jessica and Taylor Smith; and of course her two corgis, Jocko and Q-Tip.
